Sanitize Script Tags Before Saving To Db

the problem with the script tag arrows is that they can have more than one variant

(< = `<` = `<`) & ( > = `>` = `>`)

so instead of creating a pattern array with like a bazillion variant,
imho a better solution would be

// $text = input u want to clean
public function cleanHTML($text)
{
  $pattern = [
      '/script.*?\/script/ius'

      // or even better one
      '/(script.*?\/script)|[^a-zA-Z0-9]+/ius'
  ];

  return preg_replace($pattern, '', $text)
    ? preg_replace($pattern, '', $text)
    : $text;
}

** if anyone have a better idea, please do advice.
